A great horned owl perched on a weathered tree stump in a field, with bare branches in the background during autumn.

From the rare and elusive to the extraordinary ordinary….

I create and lead nature and place-based custom outings, programs, and community science projects.

For outings and programs, my focus is engaging audiences through fun and entertaining events where education happens while we laugh and wonder together.  Nature is naturally fascinating and enjoyable - it’s only boring if we make it so!

For community science projects, I both lead groups doing existing projects like eBird and iNaturalist surveys, and I help landowners (including government agencies), HOA’s, ranchers, faith-based groups, and homeowners learn about nature and birdlife on their properties.  Surveys can be exciting community building, as well as learning opportunities.

I can turn survey results into interesting presentations and brochures for you to experience the results more meaningfully than just a list.
